LOCAL ELECTION SUCCESS
Thank you to everyone who supported the Conservative Party at the local elections on 1st May. Penistone and Stocksbridge Conservatives had an excellent result all round, seeing significant gains in our support throughtout the Constituency. As a result of this increased support we now have 6 Conservative Councillors.
The local Conservative team is committed to working hard to best represent your views. Recent successes have included improved youth provision and children's play areas, better road safety measures and developing news ways of tackling crime and anti-social behaviour. But there is so much more to do.
In particular we will now re-double our efforts to protect our local Post Offices from closure by this Labour Government. Labour are proposing to close some 2,500 across the country, and this could mean over 200 Post Offices having to be closed in South Yorkshire alone. Local Conservatives will fight to keep our Post Offices open.
