Spencer Pitfield has launched a campaign to mark 2010 as the ‘Year for Change’ in Penistone & Stocksbridge.
A General Election must be held by June and to mark the arrival of this important year, the Conservative Party has set out its key promises on health in a draft manifesto. This has been one of the key issues that is raised on the doorsteps of the Penistone and Stocksbridge Constituency.
Posters have also gone up across the country to pass on the message that David Cameron would cut the deficit but not the NHS. David recently visited the area to take part in a Cameron Direct event to hear the concerns and views of local residents.
Conservative Parliamentary Candidate for Penistone & Stocksbridge, Spencer Pitfield, said:
“This year offers the chance for real change in Penistone & Stocksbridge. I know from talking to people across the constituency that they want politicians who work together to get the best for the local community and aren’t interested in petty point-scoring. The area needs a strong voice in the community; I believe I am up to that challenge.
I have personally met hundreds of residents in the time that I have been a candidate. I have listened to their concerns and frustrations on the economy, health and education to name but a few issues. I hope Gordon Brown calls the General Election at the earliest opportunity, because we can’t go on like this, we need change."
