Spencer Pitfield, Parliamentary Candidate for Penistone & Stocksbridge, helped serve up dinners at Thurgoland and Wortley Tuesday Club when he visited them recently. 

The club, which will have its 25th Anniversary later this year, meets once a week to provide cooked lunch and entertainment to over 60's who live on their own and reside in the area.

Spencer said, "I really enjoyed my visit to the luncheon club.  It is wonderful to see voluntary organisations like this one working hard in the community to provide such a valuable service. For many elderly people this may be their only trip out during the week". 

Local volunteer, Sylvia, said: "Everyone really enjoyed Spencer's visit and the ladies particularly enjoyed having a young, dashing gentleman dishing dinners out complete with pinafore.  It was really nice of him to show his support".
